Privacy Policy

Rational Studio (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the Sleep Sound: Rain & Noise mobile application (“App”). This Privacy Policy explains how information may be collected, used, processed, or shared when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

The App does not require users to create an account and we do not directly ask users to provide personal information such as their name, phone number, home address, or email address to use the App.

The App may store certain preferences locally on your device, such as:

• Selected app theme
• Sound volume settings
• Timer preferences
• Onboarding/tutorial completion status
• Current or recently selected sound settings
• Other basic app preferences required for functionality

2. Advertising

The App uses Google AdMob to display advertisements, including App Open Ads, Banner Ads, Interstitial Ads, and Rewarded Ads.

Google and its advertising partners may automatically process information such as device information, advertising identifiers, IP address, general location derived from network information, ad interactions, app interaction information, diagnostics, and other information used for advertising, measurement, fraud prevention, and related services.

3. Personalized and Non-Personalized Ads

Depending on your location, consent choices, and device settings, the App may display personalized or non-personalized advertisements. Where required by applicable law, appropriate consent choices may be shown before relevant advertising data is processed.

4. Rewarded Advertisements

Some additional functionality may be available through optional rewarded advertisements. For example, users may voluntarily choose to watch a rewarded advertisement to unlock an additional simultaneous sound slot. Watching a rewarded advertisement is optional.

5. Audio and Sound Playback

The App contains sleep sounds, noise, rain, nature sounds, meditation sounds, fire sounds, water sounds, wind sounds, and similar audio. The App does not use your microphone to record ambient audio for normal sound playback functionality. Audio selections and playback preferences may be processed locally on your device.

6. Third-Party Services

The App may use third-party services required for advertising, app stability, analytics, diagnostics, or technical operation. These providers may process information according to their own privacy policies and legal obligations.

Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads SDK is used to provide advertising, ad measurement, fraud prevention, and related services.

7. App Permissions

The App only seeks permissions required for its available functionality. We do not intentionally request access to sensitive information that is unnecessary for providing the App.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information directly to third parties. Information may, however, be processed or shared with third-party service providers such as Google when required to provide advertisements, analytics, security, fraud prevention, diagnostics, or other services integrated into the App.

9. Data Retention

We do not maintain user accounts or a dedicated server-side profile database for normal App use. Local preferences may remain on your device until you clear the App's data, uninstall the App, or the App replaces or removes the relevant stored preference. Third-party providers may retain information according to their own policies and legal obligations.

10. Data Deletion

Because the App does not require an account, there is generally no account profile stored by Rational Studio that needs to be deleted. You can remove locally stored App information by clearing the App's storage/data through Android settings or by uninstalling the App.

11. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the App. However, no electronic transmission, storage method, device, or internet-based service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

12. Children's Privacy

The App is not designed to knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If applicable laws require additional protections or consent for younger users in a particular region, we will take appropriate steps to comply with those requirements.

13. International Users

Third-party services used by the App may process information in countries other than the country in which you live. Where applicable, such processing is handled subject to the provider's privacy practices and applicable data protection requirements.

14. Your Privacy Choices

Depending on your region and device, you may have options to manage advertising consent, choose personalized or non-personalized advertising where available, reset or limit your advertising identifier, clear locally stored App data, uninstall the App, or exercise other rights provided by applicable privacy laws.

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, new features, new third-party services, advertising changes, or legal requirements. When changes are made, the “Last updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy will be revised.
